I think many people including your insurance company might feel
that a Mustang is not a best choice for a teenage boy's first
car.  But you know your son.  In any event, not knowing the
wording of what was sent to you, I'd say try to take it as
food for thought.  I don't see any reason you need to apologize
to anyone.
