Surely, you all understand that this law is only to protect consumers from unscrupulous retailers from misrepresenting the item's contents. There is no reason that once a tagged item has been sold to the consumer, that the tag can't be legally removed.

Oops. Should i turn myself in?

-Craig '85GL turned westy (The tag has been removed from the westfalia mattress! It was an accident resulting from 25 years of age and hasty removal of the interior. Should i call the authorities and turn myself in, accepting any fine? I want to do the responsible and reasonable thing.)
