If so, I'd call this narrow thinking. While I'd agree that nobody should do something like host an entire copy of the Bentley (or other copyrighted works) on-line for all to use, selective distribution of relevant pages to an individual in need might very well motivate said person to go buy his own copy, once he sees how useful it is.

Not really much different than going to the local library and photocopying the pages of interest.
