Phil Eslin <pbeslins@msn.com> says they start out with one or two thou end play, gets more as the plate wears the bottom of the bore. Mine is about a sixteenth, or 60 thou, and as I've said I'm having trouble getting the idle setting down to spec. :-( Phil does rebuilds on these to a higher standard than the original -- remachine bore, new s/s shaft, new throttle plate, sealed bearings, doesn't depend on the plate to control end play. I haven't asked him about price yet -- I expect it's fairly substantial; but the end product should work flawlessly for a long long time..
