It's the same argument I had with my sister-in-laws' husband a while ago. They took a minor rainy day spill on his dresser Harley and we picked them up from the hospital. We went over to the bike and right away I told him that the accident was his fault because the center of the rear tire was bald. His response was "There is plenty of tread left on either side". No matter how hard I tried, I could not shake him from his belief that it was OK. A few months later we were riding in Daytona FL and he was running the same bald rear tire. You are fighting the same battle on this list - you can only advise - they don't have to follow. He doesn't "get it" and probably won't. Thanks, Tom Hargrave www.kegkits.com 256-656-1924

Because if you do want to stick with tires that meet VW safety standards for Vanagon use, 14" tires that meet those specs are much cheaper than 15" or 16" ones that do. And there at least as wide if not an even wider selection. There are relatively few 15" tires that meet Vanagon specs, and scarcely any 16" ones. - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot, Inc. www.busdepot.com No virus found in this incoming message. Checked by AVG.
