Depends on the shop. The shop my brother worked at (before he moved to Hawaii) would use Castrol for most vehicles, Mobil 1 synthetic or Amsoil synthetic for the higher end cars and race cars. The shop I take my Lotus to will advise to use synthetics, but will (reluctantly if the customer insists) use something else. Some shops have deals with certain brands of oils so as to get a discount.
