ROFL...

Hi Joy,

My vanagon and two of my Dad's vanagons are all US imports. The procedure is not difficult; you simply file a copy of the bill of sale and the title with Customs and Border Protection 72 hours before you arrive at the border. CBP may inspect the vehicle (or not) then stamp your title and you are on your way. At the Canadian side you submit the title to Canadian Customs; pay the import duty and GST and you are good to go until you get a new license plate and title from your local (provincially run) DMV.

If you are *immigrating* to Canada the procedure may vary, but I suspect it would be similar.

Happy Trails,
