Though not a "click", I had a mysterious "clunk" that would happen. Particularly when parallel parking. I could recreate the sound/feel at home by turning wheel ~3/4 turn L or R of centre, then when returning wheel to centre, "clunk".

Van had to be on ground to hear it.

Check your strut arm (radius arm) bushings. Are they worn? Mine wore so bad on passenger side, it damaged (rubbed) hole in subframe. Though my front end is still in pieces, I suspect that was the cause of the clunk.
