Subject: Front Bumper-Bent From The Factory?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Howdy Volks-

Still getting the finishing touches done to Blackbeard after our 10/29 sudden meeting with the rear-end of a Dodge Minivan . . .

Shop that I went to for the repairs put the new front bumper/grille on, paint, etc. [Note: Blackbeard is a '90 GL]

When I got him back I noticed that the right-half section of fiberglass on the bottom-center was bent down. This would be the section that is molded into 2 distinct depressed 'panels' (for lack of a better word).

In speaking with the shop owner, I have been told that: * Some of the bumpers just came that way from the factory because of how they were transported immediately after being molded (they just got bent at the factory and installed as-is). * It can't be fixed. The only thing that can be done is "trimming" (cutting the bent part out).

My questions: * Is the needle on anybody's BS meter buried? * DID some of the bumpers just get installed with this obvious imperfection? * CAN this be fixed, or do I just have to live with it?

TIA! -- Drew, Las Vegas '90 GL "Blackbeard"
