Subject: tenative date, vans on the rock - weekend of July 25

So, a few folks expressed interest interest that looks somewhat serious (plus lots of "I'd love to but it's too far," "I've love to but not this year," etc.). Including a group from Ontario (the bug pack) who already had plans to go there. So, if we can coordinate timing with them it seems like we'll have a critical mass of interested people.

Given the time constraints of the FarEasties (not to be confused with the WetWesties), it looks like we're probably talking the weekend of July 25. Gros Morne is 4-5 hours from the ferry terminal at Port aux Basques, so if you're as far along as thinking about schedules, bear that in mind. We haven't given any thought yet to which part of Gros Morne - the park is split on two sides of a bay (Bonne Bay, to be specific) that is crossed by a passenger boat that doesn't take vans. One side is prettier and has the Tablelands, major geological feature. The other side has a slightly bigger town with somewhat more amenities - modest groceries, Tim Horton's, wifi, etc. We'll check into camping, events in the area that weekend, and keep you posted!

Joy
