A bunch of people do this. I understand there is a difference between the 1.9 and 2.1 rods, something like more threads in one than the other..... It doesnt matter though.

I've read plenty about this. There's some good information on thesamba.com Furthermore, i believe all the rebuilt rods available for sale from Van-cafe state they have 1.9 bolts......
