have I ever heard of stuff like this before ? ......
lol.
how about this one .........customer comes out of a shop after a front end
alignment and notices the sterring wheel is somewhat crooked when going
straight down the road. They call the shop back. The shop says it's not
possible to center the sterring wheel, and that due to the crown in the
road.....the car will always drift right a little, unless they compensate
for it ...........and that's why the steering wheel is crooked .
All PURE BS.
It would help to understand that in most shops there are only two main
goals.......
one, is identify profitble jobs that can be justified if at all possible,
and to sell that job.
two.......is to do the work as quickly as possible. - get that car out of
the bay, then get onto the next oversold job.
In most body shops it's that is should look mostly right. Actually *being
right*..........well, if we did "that" we'd go out of business !
all other considerations are secondary .........like quality of the work.
and there is always the 'we can explain it later' factor.
Were I to write a book about the lousy professional car work I've
seen...........it would be many volumes, and take years to write. .
You usually never get over about 80 % in most professional car repair
situations, sadly.
How people car rip of fellow humans by doing lousy work, or making up
stories to explain things not done right that the customer will accept is
just beyond me.
ok. back to work.
and if anyone want's to buy a vanagon or camper vanagon where ever last
screw and bracket is precisely where it belongs, and only quality , usually
german made , parts are used...........I have a few I'm working on to sell.
