Vanagon/Type II Fuel Systems - Digifant TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDELINES Idle Stabilization - Checking Automatic Tansmission ___ Connect VW 1315/2 and US 1119 to idle stabilizer vlve, set meter to mA scale. ___ Engine idling, with handbrake firmly engaged, place gearshift lever in drive. While observing multi-meter: Milliamp reading should increase. If NO: remove idle stabilization control unit. Connect US 1119 multi-meter between terminals 5 and 6 of connector plug for idle stabilization control unit and set to 2 volt range. Run engine at idle. Reding should be 0.0 volts in park or neutral (0.1 volt is acceptable), and increase to between 0.5 to 1.0 volt when placed in any drive gear. If YES: replace idle stabilization control unit.
