You've got the new style shift linkage (mine's an '81). I got a new boot for mine (OEM is NLA), I forget which US vendor I got it from, but it was packaged by justkampers in the UK. It lasted less than a year before being in shreds again. If you can get OEM ones, I would do it, unless they're $50. I just use a piece of bicycle innertube and some tie wraps now.
