Well, I was not able to be there tonight, but they got 5 gallons of fresh
gas, wired the fuel pump, hooked a hose on the regulator down to another 5
gallon can and starting draining.  The gas came out dark brown!  They put in
2.5 gallons of fresh, and rocked the Westy back and forth, then drained that
- came out orange,  put in 2.5 fresh, rocked the bus,drained that, it came
out yellow.  Went and got 5 more, added 2.5,rocked the bus, drained that and
it came out clear with creamy white blobs in it. Added all fresh and blammo,
they got fire.  Hopped in and went to Subway for a victory sandwich.  Ran
very well, idled well, started back up at Subway.

So, BAD GAS it was.

My brother camped with us a lot last year, so the bus was driven all summer
and into the fall.  It started snowing here in Northern Indiana in November
last year and we rarely saw the ground.  He put the bus away at that point
with about 7 or 8 gallons and started and ran it up to temp a couple time
over the winter when temps got above freezing.  We had some whole weeks of
below zero (Fahrenheit) and a lot of below freezing.  The barn where it was
is unheated.

What the heck were the white blobs in the gas?  They said it smelled
horrible and they could actually see water sinking to the bottom when they
put it in a jar.  Could this have been avoided with a full tank and some
Stabil?
