"Squeezed in" isn't really a proper characterization. On aircooleds, they get installed through the head and into the block. That's simply the way it's intended, with no squeezing involved, unless compressing the o-rings counts as squeezing. Much easier than on an upright engine. I've never done one of those unnatural watery things. :-)
