I don't see any point in buying cheap tools either. And I wasn't looking to cheap out. I'm sure I'll use the grinder more than once. <grin>

Speaking of tools, buying a Hobart MIG sure made the job of learning *basic* welding techniques for my engine conversion much easier. A big plus. Some of those cheaper ones have poor wire feed mechanisms. And as I'm learning, setting the wire speed is crucial. A variable pot in that regard is worth the extra bucks. The cheaper ones may not have that feature.
