Hey Mike.

On my '81, the switch is near the base of the parking brake lever. I take off the rubber cover, and there it is.

I'm guessing, but I'll bet your '91 is similar.

When all is working right, you lift the lever, (brakes on) the switch closes and connects ground to brake light unit. (light goes on)

It's the actual wire that attaches to this switch that I was suggesting might be the issue. In the UNlikely event that it came loose, and is grounding out, it has nothing to do with the lever being up or down. (brake on or off)

I only suggest this as by all accounts, your brakes are fine.

Neil.

Neil.
