Yah IIRC, that switch at hand brake on mine looked a little dinky. I too wondered Mikes switch might have failed.

And FWIW, looking at Bentley, when the fluid level switch closes, it completes the ground to the brake light causing it to turn on. Same as parking brake light switch.
