Exactly. Very porous material. Cleaning the rotors *well* (like more than once) is one of those things I'll mention when I actually get around to writing up a page on what I've learned from my front end partial rebuild. The thought of even a little bit of that protective greeze oozing out of the pores and contaminating the new pads just doesn't seem right!
