It's been year since I got it, but I purchased a module that converts the separate turn signal light & brake light into the trailer lighting that uses the same wire for brakes and turn signal. I think I paid around $25 for it. I just did a quick search and the link below shows something that is about the same thing. You can probably pick one up at your local parts house.

How did you deal with the brake lights? I hooked up a standard 4 pin trailer connection on my '84. The ground, right turn, left turn and running lights.
