Ahh, I used the "step back for awhile" tool. Just went out to play with the slider again, apparently working it over earlier with PB, various punch/hammer combos, and vulagrity convinced it to give way. The poor thing was beat looking, like a freaking rusty nail. I cleaned it up with Dremel but I'm not real happy with its condition, plus the lip that holds the boot on got beat up. So where can I get a new-to-me slider pin? I haven't seen any online vendors that carry them. I'll try the old one but I'd like to get one in better shape, that is unless the list elders tell me don't sweat it, grease that pig up and keep truckin'.
