Jerry, I have two of those mounts that fit the steel front bumbers. They came on Syncros I have purchased and I pulled them right off. I can snap a picture this weekend if you like. I will sell them and ship, no problem. dylan ________________________________ From: Stephen Grisanti <bike2vcu@YAHOO.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Thursday, April 2, 2009 9:22:42 AM Subject: Re: front bumper mounted bike rack There used to be one on the market called Hoop Supremacy, I think by Graber. Probably long out of production. This may be the one you recall. Might be one still made like this by a different manufacturer. I'd check RV shops. They might still be selling something like this to the big rigs. The ones that clamp onto the bumper, then there is an upside-down U-shaped piece of metal that has a prong for two bikes up just below the windshield. I don't like having my bikes on a rack mounted onto the rear hatch, makes it too hard to get access inside. And I'm too cheap to buy a hitch and rack that swings out of the way in the rear. I've googled and ebay-ed to no avail. Thought someone here might be of help. Thanks. Jerry Boise 1987 Westy |
