If it's the same section of wiring I'm thinking of, this also happened with my old *air cooled* engine too. http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/rearwiring I wouldn't have seen it had I not been in there starting work for my engine conversion. I don't recall if there were straps that had failed to keep this portion of harness suspended away from muffler, but likely that's what happened. Good of you to remind people of this Doug.
