On the dual switch setup the two switches are actually connected
in parallel. It is just like one switch only.
The idle switch is closed at idle throttle position and the
full throttle switch is closed when at full throttle position
So the two actually can be reduced to one. It just need
to be open as soon as the pedal is depressed a little. It must
become closed when the pedal is released or floored.
The ECU will know if it is floored or released by looking at
the AFM signal and the RPM of the engine.
Perhaps some of the 85 and 86+ have only one switch but they
are really no different from the dual switch setup.
