Hi all.

Got past some hurdles today. Actually got all the front end/brake parts on, except calipers.

At one point though, while torquing the nut on radius arm, I heard this strange grinding sound. Of course it happened at the radius arm hole I had repaired. My first reaction was: "Oh no! The small backfill weld is cracking!" Then I thought maybe something was hinky with the arm itself. That bugged me. Pulled it apart. No cracks and arm looked ok. "whew". (Likely it was just the sound of the metal sleeve rubbing on the arm as it moved while torquing nut.)

And thank the Vanagon Gods that I didn't snap a nut while installing the radius arms. ( I took my time doing those) That in itself makes it a happy day!

Neil.
