Don, Thanks for a great report. And, to me, any trip completed without vehicle problems is a great trip! Packing everything you think you might need is one thing, adding a big dog is another. I travel with a big black Lab. If you get caught outside, away from the van, in a rainstorm, adds to the fun. That happened to me last year in San Diego, where I was stealth camping, so I couldn't put the top up, and the first thing the dog wants to do is shake the water off. I carry an old bath towel, so I was able to contain most of the water, but my clothes were soaked as well, so that night was pretty humid inside. Jerry in AZ

Another fine "winter" trip in the 84 topless faux-westie. Headed down Hwy 395 from south-central Washington state just ahead of the first major snow in Dec. Traveled through the High Desert of Oregon, fully loaded, enjoying the tailwind and the uncrowded highways of late fall/early winter. The inline four 1.8liter motor again just 'singing it's high-pitched
