Brake pad technology evolves just like tire technology does. And a lot of things drive changes, like the removal of asbestos from brake pads or new & better compounds. The last thing I would be worried about is the color of the pads.

The best pads available today are the modern ceramic pads. They wear well, brake well, dust little and are not hard on your rotors like the earlier ceramic pads were. And the best part is they are probably available from your local "big box" parts store!

Call me crazy, but I like to think that engineers might have learned SOMETHING about friction and materials since those pads were developed for the Bay window bus!

I would go with the PBR...
