No, that is not a breather, but I am not much help in remembering what it is, but the breathers are up on top of the transmission case, two of them and they can get plugged up with dirt, grease, etc. Reach way up on top and feel around, they are two small caps that should turn freely. They are pressed over the breathers, but don't come off. Jerry

I removed about 1 quart of ATF and cleaned off the tranny. I did notice there is a round 4" thing on the driver side of the tranny held on with what looks like a wire bail (like a valve cover bail) thats where it seems to be leaking from. Is that a breather of some sort?
