That video is NLA, but the longer version works. The interesting part from adjusting standpoint is seconds 9-14 or so.

Actually I *think* the pawl on the leading shoe will simply slide over the ratchet wheel on the adjuster, and nothing will happen.

I don't think it's terrifically clear on the video, but looking at 46.8/9 may help to see the adjuster ratchet wheel, next to and smaller than the manual-adjustment wheel. Note that the video is of a right-side wheel, and the book shows the left. The video gives an excellent view of the pawl -- note that it rises as the brakes are applied, pulling upward on the ratchet wheel, then is pulled down by the return spring. As the brakes wear the travel gradually becomes greater until the pawl slips past the next tooth on the ratchet, whereupon the return spring pulls the ratchet wheel around, adjusting the brakes outward and reducing the pawl travel again. And so forth.
