Tony, The Syncros are a close match to the similar vintage Golfs and Jettas. Not good for 2wd because they will read half as fast. That small number on the face at the bottom of the dial tells you how many revs per distance measured. For example, your 2wd speedo will say '805' on the bottom. Syncros will say '1600'. I think Golfs say '1580' IIRC so very close.
