I just purchased a new torque wrench, long-overdue and a nice upgrade from the old "beam" style I've been using. Since I was just switching over some tires, I thought I would break in the new wrench. My Haynes manual shows 133 foot pounds as the proper torque for wheels. I could not find any designation in the Bentley. Is 133 the correct figure? Seems just snug to me, so if this is correct I have been over tightening lug nuts for years! I guess I'm just so used to the automotive shops using air impact wrenches that must torque things well over specs-- I've had to use breaker bars in some cases to loosen nuts. Troy |
