Good to know what the symptoms of a failed/failing valve can be David. I guess in that case, the ball was closing off the flow. At this point I attribute the arse end of my Westy coming around (during test "panic" stop) to a failing FR caliper: http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/BrakeCaliper.jpg messed up outer seal, rust spots on exposed portion of piston, but pad wear looked almost even. (but I don't use the brakes much) Thanks, Neil. -- Neil Nicholson '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ http://groups.google.com/group/vanagons-with-vw-inline-4-cylinder-gas-engines |
