You know, if the van goes straight down the road with hands off the steering wheel, the steering wheel is centered and you don't wear tire tires you have lined it up.

If the steering wheel is off center but all else is good you have still done an acceptable alignment, not good but if it goes straight and doesn't wear the tires (just having the wheel off center brings lots of business to front end shops with a 'pull' <shrug>) the important part is done.

If it doesn't go straight with hands off the wheel you need more work. If it wears the tires you'll find out later and then you'll know you should have taken it to an alignment shop.

Rob becida@comcast.net On the road again? Just moving? Lose the house? Full timer? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRA/
