Might I suggest the ghetto strut fix, a 3/4" piece of PVC pipe, the exact
length eludes me, but it's in the 8" range.  Slide piece over the end of one
strut, when opening the hatch the pvc pipe slides down over wide part of
strut and acts as a "prop stick".  To close just slide piece over fat end of
strut and close.  Not elegant but wicked cheap, < $2.
