While on the subject of rear hatch struts, another handy device for anyone tripping
out west or wherever, is the rear hatch lock extension, available from our vendors.
Some people have made their own version from large turnbuckles.
The hatch lock fits between the striker and the latch and allows you to leave the
hatch open a few inches for ventilation and locks in that position with the key.
