Thanks for all the replies! I can't take credit for all (or even most) of the pictures. Maria took a bunch of them too. And, needless to say, we took a bunch of pictures that didn't really come out---this a a selection of some of the best ones.

I've gone back and attached labels to all the photos in the album ( http://picasaweb.google.com/mchikina/RoadTrip#) so anyone wondering where a particular picture was taken can check that now.

This trip in august by the way.
