If the Westy was running ok before "wet" issue and is relatively rust free....

Don't part it out. Sell it "as is", representing it as honestly as you can.

Market it toward an honest experienced Vanagon potential buyer, by becoming knowledgable of what the issues are (so they won't take advantage of the situation) and "voicing" this knowledge in the ad.

If it is truly only a hole in the tailpipe (i.e. rest of exhaust ok) and a "runs poor when wet" issue, that may not be hard to fix.

If all goes according to plan, you might fetch a relatively decent amount for it, make someone who wants to tinker with it happy, and save a Westy from the scrap heap. A "win-win". They get a good deal, you make some clams.

From the other POV, consider that selling it piece by piece, takes time.
