I think someone tried to bolt it on something it did not belong to & then
returned the part without telling the reseller about the damage.

Regardless, all of the torque & load is on the lug nut area, not the opening
for the center hub.

If it's brand new, you have an issue with the seller and potentially the
shipper.
Either way though, this is what hammers are for.....
