I think someone tried to bolt it on something it did not belong to & then returned the part without telling the reseller about the damage.

Regardless, all of the torque & load is on the lug nut area, not the opening for the center hub.

It is more likely the fault of the installer. This was installed less than 100 miles ago. The drums came new in the box. The shop who got the parts has been doing work for me for years. The get parts and install same day. I think the shop rookie worked on the van which is why I suspect the damage happened there.
