Won't work. The Vanagons ones are made for that specific gear ratio just for the Vanagon. If you look right above the trip meter reset you will see a three or four digit number. That is your gear ratio. It is different between 2wd and Syncro Vanagons and also MPH and KPH speedos. So there are four different speedo heads out there beside the ones that are for the early Vanagons (screw on connector in rear).
