Status is still intermittent loss of power. Pulled all plug wires and engine drops with each. Let a little coolant out of overflow and ran up to temp and tried to bleed and no air. Seems it takes forever to come up to normal on the temp gauge and fan finally comes on. Engine seems really hot when I stand behind it. If I just let van come up to speed really slowly, no problem, but as soon as i put any pedal, it bogs done and eventually will kick back in. haven't pulled the fuel filter yet, but no leaks in it and pretty new. Can't see any exhaust leaks when I used a little smoke to see if there were any cracks. Puzzled. Getting pressure at the tailppe. Checked price on fuel pump and wonder if anyone has a known good one I can try. TIA. Michael in San Antonio 91GL AT 'Gringo' 73 Beetle
