I have spoken to a few people who had them, even bought a victim 83 Vanagon from a guy who had given up on the rotary after a couple of short lived installs. He said the power was high up in the rpm band and the fuel mileage was lousy, even with the 5 speed tranny his 83 Vanagon came with.
