Subject: Cofab Pistons Any Good?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; format=flowed; delsp=yes

So I am looking for pistons for my rebuild. I really don't want to spend a fortune on the Mahle German units. The Cofabs are half the price and I have heard that Boston Bob used them for some time.

Is there any horrible reason not to use this product?

Are the rings that it comes with ok or should I use another brand? Like Grant, or Deves?

I know that these pistons are down 1mm in deck height, but from what I understand it will not kill engine performance. It may allow the engine to run a little cooler from what I am hearing from multiple sources. I did find someone who makes specialized rods to lengthen it just enough but they seem sort of experimental to me.

set of "2.4L" P&L for the WBX http://www.shoptalkforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=109925

Any feedback on this would be great.

Thanks.
