At least I think it's weird! Maybe someone can explain it. Matilda has a gasoline leak. Dripping from the hose the runs from the gas tank to the fuel filter. She's going to my trusty wonderful mechanic on Tuesday (he's off Sunday and Monday and too busy today) to be repaired, and CAA will tow her there. So that's not my question. I've got a pan under her so the gas doesn't run all over the neighborhood (more than it already did before I noticed it). Last night when I first realized this, it was just gasoline dripping. This morning I checked again to see if the pan needed emptying, and the hose is all covered with slightly cottage-cheesy-looking clumps of white stuff. Is this some kind of chemical reaction between gasoline and something? Road salt? Humidity? Some of them fell into the pan with the gas, most are just hanging off the hose. I don't know if they're hard or soft, since I didn't want to stick my fingers in the gasoline to check. What is this?
