See Joel's email for the facts. See factory documentation for more facts: Your own link: "From a copied VW spec sheet from 1985 (Form No. W64 255 6011):" http://www.dualport.com/vanagon/data.html Note the "Weekender package," described as "Includes: Folding rear bench seat with storage compartment, engine compartment cushion, center seat with folding backrest" The above is correct. None of the Wolfsburg Edition campers had a center seat with folding backrest. And if you keep reading it says it is available for Vanagon and Vanagon GL, not Camper. The Wolfsburg Edition campers were not the 'weekender package'. Your own link: http://www.dualport.com/vanagon/data.html If you look closely, the Weekender package is NOT available on the Camper, but on hard-top Vanagon and Vanagon GL. I owned an '85 Westfalia Wolfsburg Edition camper for 4 years and read every manual and piece of doumentation that came with the vehicle. NOWHERE is the vehicle called a Weekender or is the word 'weekender package' mentioned. I still am a member of the Wolfsburg Edition Yahoo groups where we posed and analyzed this question already. We disagreed with you a long time ago. Here's the link: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/wolfsburg_campers/
Even your own links you provided disagree with you. The only 'Weekender Package' is available on a hard-top Vanagon and provides NO CABINETS.
As for the rest of links you provided, it is not VW factory documentation, only misunderstanding of the facts and perpetuation of misapplied terms, much like your own.
