There seems to be a lot of confusion about these boots, and the shift linkage change from 82, 83 and on. It is not helped by people like me who respond about 82 linkage boots with "I have an 83 ... also!".. :) Actually I have an 82, I don't know why I responded that way. If you look at his original link to the diagram, in the link text it says 1987. The diagram is for an '82. Like I said, lots of confusion.
