Matt,
I had this happen right before some important event (not my wedding, I
was driving a splittie then) and I didn't have time to mess with it. I
took a minute--literally--to pull the wheel and found a crumpled up
brass glob underneath. I jerked it out with a pair of longnose and
drove it for weeks that way before replacing the horn ring. Something
was weird with the ring out... horn wouldn't blow unless the wheel was
slightly turned or something like that, but the scraping stopped.

>> Well if you are about to get married I can understand how you might be a little stressed, sorry. Is the scraping sound at the steering wheel or underneath? I just solved a scraping sound at the wheel by lube-ing the horn contact, but it was not a really loud noise, so I think you might be dealing with something else.
