Yes, it's quite amazing. Honestly, that engine was still working ok. I mean
the reason it came on a flat bed it was because it had no brake what so ever
(broken line).
The second major problem was that both heads where leaking badly, i mean
badly. By the time i was ready to remove the engine it had no coolant left.
To reach the engine to trany starter bolt under the throttle body this one
need to be remove, i couldn't remove the 2 screws that hold the TB to
plenum!!! i had to hammer this one out!
I mean for 2 second i wonder what would i have done if i had to rebuilt that
engine!!!! No way i could have. And the one who know me know that i have
been there many time:

We often don't know the history of our van. they where sold so many time.
But this is a 1 owner van! Sell receipt was in the glove box will all
maintenance record. He said that it was driven for only 3 winters but staid
outside for many winter.
The body is ok, not that bad. It was poorly redone some years ago.
The 2.1L engine do rust way more than the 1.9L... i wonder why! cheaper bolt
that is for sure.
I took a few stock engine this year, one of those is also horrible. I will
document this one. This is my 29th Subaru conversion, i have no challenge
with them. It's time that i go back to stock engine to see if i still got
it... I did none last year :-) This way, i will appreciate more the
conversion. Of course, when you look at that:

There is no comparison.
