Thanks for the response Scott. I stopped by to check it out again this
afternoon, after work. My son was there cleaning it up. I asked him to
get it clean enough to display how pristine this vehicle actually is,
but without actually removing cabinets, etc. Besides, it is really
clean already. I met with the owner and here is the scoop :
It was owned by original owner for six months, before he sold it to a
couple in Idaho. They used it to camp, but when they became a little
older, they parked it in the barn. This guy actually waxed it
regularly, though it didn't go outside for quite a while. When the
current owner bought it, the seller delivered it because he had never
been to Colorado. It now has 73K and change on the clock. The
shredomatic cloth interior has lived up to its nickname, though it is
not horrific like I have seen in others. It just went through a
vehicle inspection and passed with flying colors, but I can and will
do a far better inspection this coming week. I have found a couple of
things, but minor, like one missing glove box rubber strap and missing
windshield wiper plastic cap, but am not seeing much. This thing is
really clean. I looked for evidence of a surface re-spray and can find
none. The paint is good and transitions true from exterior and into
the interior, seamlessly. My son and I will continue checking this van
out, over the weekend, as work permits and, by the time we put up the
pictures, we should have a very clear picture, much clearer than the
usual description.
Please understand that I do this kind of thing regularly, on a local
level, and never profit in any way. This time, the seller insists that
I accept 10% and I agreed. I don't need the $ though, so my son will
take the winnings. In short, this one is a jewel and needs a home with
someone who truly loves these things. You know, the guy who wishes he
had never sold his 85 Wolfsburg Weekender.......more to come as our
work schedules allow.
Thanks,
Miguel
